A Dying Art

I love these purses. Since I started buying these, I barely use my leather purse anymore. This is from my personal collection. I have added a few more since these pictures were taken.

Passions of a Hmong Wife

As a Hmong wife, I am constantly balancing two conflicting cultures – one that celebrates risk-taking and another that thrives on being ultra-conservative. We would all like to believe that who we are inside of us is what is important; however, how we carry ourselves and what we wear communicates who we are.

Style - Our wardrobe helps us to leave behind a first impression that reflects who we are. We feel more confident when our clothes are current, polished, and well put together.

Domestic Violence - Over the last 10 years, I have spent time learning about the warning signs of abuse and control that a woman can watch out for early on in the relationship.

Survivors of abuse are the ones who can shed light onto the denial and distortions of abusers. If we could hear their voices more, and less from abusers and their supporters, the Hmong community would move more rapidly to eliminate the chronic mistreatment that so many women face in their lives.
